Feel your feelings

We distract ourselves because we're afraid to feel. We think that if we avoid our feelings, then they will go away. But they don't. Allowing ourselves to feel is by no means comfortable. We all have layers and layers of trauma that we put band-aids of avoidance over. But if we want to create space for positive change, then we have to allow ourselves to feel.

When I am stuck in a negative feeling, it's usually because I am fighting against it. I find it liberating to remember that there are no wrong feelings. There are wrong actions. But there are no wrong feelings. Loving, hating, sadness, etc. One isn't better than the other. It's all just how we choose to interpret them in our mind and body. Removing the judgments we place on what we are feeling allows us to watch, process, and release them.

You should see your feelings like the weather. The weather is changing, and we know that we can't control it or force it because it's nature. Our feelings are just like this. But we forget that they're a force of nature too. Don't try and force what you feel. You can't force nature. Embrace everything like how the seasons come and go.

Have courage to face your feelings today. Don't be afraid of them. Don't be terrified of them. Don't fight them. Allow them, and embrace them all. Life becomes much richer when we open up our spectrum to feel more intensely.
